FOLIO has received a grant from FINRA Investor Education Foundation and the American Library Association (Smart investing@your library® Financial Fitness Series) to provide financial fitness programs around Oklahoma during the next two years. The project will expand a successful financial education model (developed by Pioneer Library System) to libraries across the state, giving primary attention to meeting the needs of military personnel and their families, senior citizens, young adults and low-income households. The Financial Fitness series prompts participants to make concrete changes to their personal finance practices and helps them gain control of their financial fundamentals while positioning them to begin investing for longer-term goals.
The Oklahoma Department of Libraries is providing in-kind services for Financial Fitness, including developing and hosting the project’s website, and assisting with promotional materials and activities.
The grant is being extended one year beginning the fall of 2018 and will run through 2019.
